The Idea

PULSE started as a sketch on a napkin during a frustrating poker night. The host had spent a fortune on a dedicated poker table that took up half his living room. The rest of us were cramped around it, bumping elbows, with chips constantly rolling off the edge because the rail was too narrow.

There had to be a better way to bring the poker room experience home without sacrificing your living space.

From Sketch to Prototype

The first prototype was rough — wooden segments held together with basic hinges. It worked, but it wasn't elegant. Over months of iteration, we landed on processed bamboo for the core — lightweight, durable, and beautiful. Synthetic leather and high-density sponge for the playing surface. And neodymium magnets for the segment connections — no screws, no clamps, just satisfying magnetic snap.

The final design: 6 segments that unfold and lock together in under 9 seconds. A complete poker rail that fits in a duffle bag.

11 Minutes

We launched on Kickstarter with modest expectations. We'd be happy if we funded in a week.

We funded in 11 minutes.

The support was overwhelming. Backers from around the world — the US, UK, Australia, Asia — believed in the vision. By the time the campaign ended, we had raised over HK$730,000 from 417 backers, reaching 1,800% of our original goal.

PokerNews picked up the story, featuring PULSE as the world's first modular portable poker rail system. It was surreal.

Fulfillment and Beyond

Fulfilling 417 orders across the globe was an education in logistics, customs, and patience. Every package was packed with care, knowing that each one represented someone who believed in PULSE before it existed.

Now, we're taking the next step. The Shopify store at pulsepokerclub.com is officially live, bringing PULSE directly to poker lovers everywhere — no campaign deadlines, no limited quantities. Just great products, shipped to your door.

What's Next

This is just the beginning. The Rail System was our first product, but PULSE is building a complete ecosystem for the modern home game — mats, chips, cards, and more. We're listening to our community and constantly improving.
